MULTAN, May 22nd: The administration of Bahauddin
Zakariya University Multan is openly violating the Govt's instructions and
rules and regulations in the distribution of Laptops to oblige its blue-eyed
departments at the cost of less important departments like Botany, Pure and
applied biology, Psychology,Department of Education ,Department of History and
Civilization Studies , Department of Pakistan Studies and Department of
Political Science etc. All departments have finalised and approved the list of
students who were entitled to get Laptop in M.Sc classes. but some dears of
Vice Chancellor of BZU like Prof Dr.Mian Ghulam Yasin allegedly issued unilateral instructions to distribute the Laptops
among the BS students only without seeing their academic record while shining students of other departments were neglected. .However one laptop each was given to M.Sc classes.
Though the government has kicked off the
fourth phase of laptop distribution among distinction-holder students and
116,000 laptops worth over Rs. 7 billion will be given to the students across
the province but shining students (Male-female) of Bahauddin Zakariya
University could not get their rightful laptops. Who will listen to the hue and
cry of deserving students who were awaiting for Laptop for a long time
?.District administration spokesman disclosed here today that 3500 students of Multan will get laptops
during this phase. "The students who passed out in 2015, 2016 and 2017
will get laptops and this phase will continue for three consecutive days,"
sources added.Meanwhile, the laptop distribution begun at Jinnah Auditorium of
Bahauddin Zakariya University and federal minister for water resources Javed
Ali Shah chaired the proceedings. A police contingent presented guard of honour
to the students.
