MULTAN - Chief of Awami Raaj Party (ARP) Jamshed Dasti declared on Saturday he would move Supreme Court if elections are held before accountability in the country.
Talking to the media here after kicking off a free bus service between Multan and Jalalpur Pirwala, he demanded launching of ruthless accountability in the country before general elections. He said that the manifesto of his party clearly mentioned that the corrupt would get capital punishment and even if Dasti is found guilty of corruption, he should be hanged publicly. "But the accountability process should not be limited to just Nawaz Sharif, rather all landlords, capitalists, politicians and others who are involved in corrupt practices, should be punished as well," he asserted. He said that the decision whether to make an alliance with Dr Tahirul Qadri would be made in a week. He warned that now the sit-in would not be held in just Islamabad rather this activity would be replicated across the country. He said that the situation in Balochistan indicates that the government would be abolished by February 15. He declared that he would hold a big public meeting at Qasim Bagh stadium in March. He said that the free bus service would save Rs150 million of citizens annually. He said that the rulers have committed crime by amending Khatme Nubuwwat declaration and all the culprits involved in this crime should be punished.
He said that the time has come for the residents of Saraiki region to get rid of politics of inheritance. "Now a common man, who truly represents the residents of South Punjab, should be sent to the assemblies," he added. He claimed that he would get Saraiki region liberated from Takht-e-Lahore, if the residents of this region gave him just 15 MNAs and 30 MPAs. He said that the country would not make progress until the mess is cleared. He asked the people to support ARP to bury the system of oppression and injustice.
Highlighting the sugarcane issue, he said that the sugar mill owners robbed poor growers in broad daylight but no one stopped their hand. He declared that the ARP would raise voice for the rights of sugarcane growers in the assembly. He said that the sugarcane growers were being fleeced by the mill owners but the rulers kept mum which was condemnable. He demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of sugarcane growers' plight.
