Police claimed to have caught one of the robbers while the Punjab Inspector General of Police took a serious notice of the incident and directed the Multan CPO to take immediate action for the arrest of the accused.Police said that five armed robbers forced their entry into the house of one Zulfiqar and raped his 25-year-old wife after looting valuables and locking him up in a separate room. The robbers managed to escape after the crime while the woman was shifted to hospital for medical aid. Police rushed to the spot after learning about the incident and the CPO said that investigation is underway.
On the other hand, highway patrolling police claimed to have arrested one of the accused from Buapur area along with a firearm. He was shifted to Seetal Mari Police station where a team is interrogating him.
