MULTAN, Mahnoor Anis Sheikh's one day solo exhibition was held at a local hotel which was inaugurated by the Professor of arts department in Bahauddin Zakariya University Dr.Sofia Umar. The visitors appreciated the work of young artist.Former President of FPCCI Mian Tanvir A Sheikh, former President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry Anis A' Sheikh, Romana Tanvir Sheikh Senior Vice President of MCCI,Rameen Anis and a large number of other art-lovers visited the exhibition. The exposition was basically a workshop for the new entrants in arts and the people interested in art and painting and aimed at providing them with a stoic link between literature, art and history.Every piece of art that you see exists within a ‘discourse’: a historical and cultural narrative of which the piece of art forms a part. If you are unaware of the context and the discourse surrounding a piece of art, you can’t possibly have any idea what it might mean. You are as clueless to it’s meaning. The story of modern art and contemporary art are particularly interesting because of how the history painting changed in order to give rise to it. Most art historians agree it can be traced back to when a group of painters rejected the entry criteria and started focusing on subject matter that interested them.
However, the exhibition has not only gained popularity in academic world but was also attended by members of the civil society.Mahnoor thinks ," Art can be and do many things; it can be an expression of emotions, it can represent a feeling or idea. Art can make statements or simply be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Looking at and comprehending art is all about taking the time to view, identify and think. Mahnoor Anis Sheikh is a grand daughter of Mian Maqbool 'A Sheikh of
