Pakistan is wrongly portrayed as a dangerous country by foreign media-Brazil Envoy

MULTAN, Brazilian Ambassador in Pakistan Mr.Claudio Raja Gabaglia Lins has said that Pakistan has always been portrayed in the foreign media as a failed or dangerous country. In reality, this is totally absurd and false. It is a peace -loving country which believes in co-existence, tolerance, and fraternity.Businessmen are progressive, they want peace and most of all they mean business.He was exchanging views with participants of a reception hosted in his honour by Sheikh Fazal Elahi former Vice President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry.Mr.Claudio said “It is quite unfortunate that Pakistan has now become a synonym with suicide bombings and militancy, however, it is more than that. A thriving economy, booming telecom, construction , financial and IT market, Pakistan offers a lot more than what is on the news”. Brazilian guest said “Pakistan is the best country in the world. It has everything. Beautiful country, beautiful people.. powerful military, fastest growing economy, best relations with other countries ,awesome food.. what else does one need?” Ambassador of Brazil Claudio Lins said that Pakistan and Brazil have huge potential to boost trade and business ties and urged for enhancing the trade volume between both of the countries.Pakistan’s exports with Brazil is just $71 million, which was very low with seventh largest economy of the world and both the countries have huge perspectives for increasing trade and cooperation in the fields of sports goods, instruments, food items, fertilizers, fruits and vegetables cotton, textile and dairy sector.Ambassador said that the Pakistani economy was stabilizing and with the completion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), many opportunities will emerge for foreign investors from all around the world, including Brazil.He said that Brazilian embassy in Pakistan was ready to facilitate Pakistani businessmen in this regard, and also called to remove the communication gap to give a quantum jump to the mutual trade.Touching upon the renewable energy sector of Brazil, Lins said that Pakistan can benefit from Brazil’s expertise and the technology being used in the renewable energy sector. “Brazilian embassy is available at your disposal if any Pakistani company is looking forward for a right partner in the renewable energy sector,” said the envoy.Sheikh Fazal Elahi in his welcome address said that Pakistan and Brazil have been negotiating since long for setting up of a Pak-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and desired that its establishment should be expedited that will help in promoting business linkages and improve bilateral trade between the two countries.The reception was also attended by Malik Asrar Ahmed Awan, President of Multan Chamber,Former  Presidents of MCCI Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi, Muhammad Khan Saddozai,Khawaja Muhammad Yousaf, Khawaja Muhammad Usman, Mian Tanvir Ahmed Sheikh Ex-President of FPCCI,Sheikh Ahsan Rasheed, Haji Muhammad Akram, Chairman of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association,Nawab Shehzad Ali Khan, Ex-Chairman of PCGA, Aasim Saeed Sheikh,Commercial Consular, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Syed Iftikhar Ali Shah,Syed Ijaz Shah, Khurram Javed Butt, Malik Shaukat Hayat Bosan, MPA,Khawaja Muhammad Farooq Vice President of MCCI, Khawaja Muhammad Hussain ,Azhar Mumtaz Tipu,Khawaja Muhammad Fazil,Chairman Multan Drport Trust,Mirza Ali Ahmed,Khawaja Mehr Ali, Shahid Mehmood Khan,Ex-MPA,Khawaja Muhammad Iqbal, Shahid Saeed Mirza,Col(Retd) Khalid Mehmood Mirza,Majid Fakhri, Raees Ahmed Khan Lothar, Hussain Ahmed Fazal,Dr.Mehmood Qureshi,Khawaja Muhammad Azam, Aurangzeb Alamgir,Tariq Mehmood Khokhar, Muhammad Dawood Sheikh,Bakhsh Elahi,and Abdullah Fazal.
