Imran never responded to notices over Rs10b bribery claim: CM Punjab

MULTAN, Sept 21st: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif says tremendous work has been done during the last four years to improve the road infrastructure in the province.He was addressing PML-N workers and notables of the area in Dera Ghazi Khan on Thursday after performing the groundbreaking of Dera Ghazi Khan-Muzaffargarh dual carriageway.The Chief Minister said that provincial government is working to improve road connectivity between southern and central Punjab.He said fifteen billion rupees would be spent in South Punjab for providing clean drinking water to the people of rural areas.Shahbaz Sharif said Punjab Government has given thirteen billion rupees to National Highways Authority (NHA) for construction of Dera Ghazi Khan Muzaffar Garh carriage-way.He said work on Danish schools project in Dera Ghazi Khan and Taunsa Sharif has begun.He also announced to set up a cardiac and Kidney wards in Dera Ghazi Khan and Muzaffargarh hospitals.Chief Minister announced to construct a dual carriageway from Muzaffargarh to Punjnad head work via Khangarh, Alipur.He also announced to set up a campus of Bahauddin Zakariya University in Muzaffargarh to facilitate the male and female students of this district . He said that there would be no power load-shedding before ending the current calendar year and it would help in boosting up the industrial as well as agricultural production. He said that power load-shedding had played a havoc in Pakistan during last 15 years  resultantly our production was badly hit and thousands of workers rendered jobless. He said that those who claimed to end the corruption, did nothing for the welfare of the masses. He said that Imran Khan had given us a certificate of Dengue brothers but dengue took lives of a number of people in Peshawar and other parts of KPK.Then we sent a number of teams to control dengue and to save lives of the people.we are not doing politics on this issue.While fact is that Pathan had climbed on the mountain instead of taking precautionary measures against dengue.Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan never responded to the notices sent to him over his claim that he was offered Rs10 billion for keeping mum on the Panama Leaks case.He said that when he pursued the issue in court over the PTI chief’s allegations, Imran never turned up for the hearings.Shehbaz Sharif said if Imran can go to address rallies in different cities then he can definitely show up at court hearings as well.“If I have taken even a penny from public then go to the court and prove it,” he said.A clean water project for Punjab has been inaugurated, he said.While coming to the subject of 2018 General Elections, he said that DG Khan will prove to be a stronghold for Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz.Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif met the widow and other family members of martyred Constable Javed Iqbal of Punjab Anti-Terrorism Force in Dera Ghazi Khan on Thursday. He paid rich tributes to the great sacrifice rendered for the country by the martyred Javed Iqbal and presented a cheque of financial grant worth one crore rupees to the widow. He also announced to give a house costing one crore and 35 lakh rupees to his widow and children. In addition to it, a plot measuring seven marlas will also be given to the family of the martyred constable.The chief minister announced to employ the son of his constable in the Police. Meanwhile, a monthly stipend of Rs 20 thousand will be given for transport and care of the family members. The widow will be given full salary till the date of retirement of the martyred constable.It is pertinent to mention here that Javed Iqbal was gunned down by the terrorists on August 31 while he was coming back home after performing his duties. He collected important information about the terrorists and on the basis of the information, successful operations were conducted in which seven terrorists were killed and many others were arrested.
