Over 9.7 million cotton bales reach ginneries across Pakistan,says Jeso Mal

MULTAN,Dec 03:Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival upto December 1st,2016. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 97,78,451 bales of cotton  have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of November 15,showing an increase of 13.28 per cent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 86,31,933 bales. According to the Fifth  fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here today,Chairman of PCGA Dr.Jeso Mal ,Ex- Chairman Shehzad Ali Khan and group ChairmanHaji Muhammad Akram  briefed about cotton production and said  Out of the total arrivals, 9.77 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of  61,58,870  bales recorded  increase of 20.69  per cent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 36,19,581 bales while last  year Sindh received 35,28,841  bales merely 2.57 % more . Ginneries in Sindh recorded an increase of 2.57 % as compared to corresponding period last year.Textile mills have bought 76,83,980 bales while exporters bought 1,84,944 bales. The total bales sold out so far were calculated at 78,68,924 bales. Multan received 2,80,863  bales 142.15 percent increase than last year, Lodhran 1,73,443  bales 115.59  % increase, Khanewal 5,52,071 bales 56.25 % increase, Muzaffargarh 3,02,665 bales an increase of 29.46 %, Dera Ghazi Khan 3,19,937 an increase of 17.51 %, Rajanpur 3,28,994 bales, 16.45 % decrease,Layyah 2,53,314 , 11.20 % increase, Vehari 3,51,881  bales  22  % increase, Sahiwal 1,97,933   bales 13.08 % less than last year, Pakpattan 40,160 bales 39.36 % less, Okara 18,807-  13.79 % less ,Toba Tek Singh 1,47,838 bales, Faisalabad 34,330 bales 24.25 %less than last year, Jhang 29,762 showing decrease of 26.62 %, Mianwali 2,36,609  a decrease of 6.99% , Bhakkar 59,827 (18.70 % less) Sargodha 9,200 (16.36 %less), Rahimyar Khan 10,13,356  bales (Merely 6.47 %less), Bahawalpur  8,71,321  an increase of 32.72 %,and Bahawalnagar 9,33,569-an increase of 40.95 %. In Sindh: Hyderabad 2,23,595 bales 8.52 % less than last year,Mirpur Khas (Thar) 2,67,737  bales 1.02 % less, Sangarh ,12,10,509  bales  6.48 % decrease, Nawabshah 3,13,860 bales (5.31% increase), Naushero Feroze 3,22,564  bales (17.73% increase),Khairpur 2,73,409  (12.96 % increase) Ghotki 2,77,725 (6.56 % increase),Sukkur 4,80,945 (22.29% increase)Dadu 38,500  bsales (25.30 % increase) Jamshoro 1,10,236  bales (17.12% less) ,Badeen 27,027 bales 14.47 % less) and Baluchistan 73,874 bales (anincrease of 30.54 %). Total 788 ginning factories are operational in the country.Of them 566 in Punjab and 222 in Sindh.Total 19,09,527 bales are lying in unsold stock.
