MULTAN, March 18th: More than 200 activists of religious organisations including Sunni Tehrik and Tehrik Sirat-e-Mustaqueem staged a demonstration to press the authorities to hang a christian blasphemer Aasia bibi forthwith and they paid homage to Mumtaz Qadri and called him a hero of Muslim ummah. Participants were carrying placards, banners and party flags and shouting slogans against the Government and demanding to hang blasphemers.The demo was led by Abdul Baqar Jalali Chief of Tehrik Sirat-e-Mustaqueem Maulana Faiz Bakhsh Rizvi,Qari Aman-ullah Mehrvi, Qari Muhammad Mian Nawazi. They condemned the execution of Mumtaz Qadri, the killer of former Punjab governor Salman Taseer describing it unjust They said that Feb 29 was the darkest day in the history of Pakistan when a true lover of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) was hanged by the government. They said that Qadri was a ‘hero’ of the nation and not a criminal. Qari Muhammad Mian Nawazi said that killers of Ziaul Haq, Liaquat Ali Khan and Benazir Bhutto could not be hanged so far, but Qadri was executed only to appease India, America and the western world.
