At least Twelve people were dead when a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road in Kashmir

At least Twelve people were dead when a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in Ramnagar area of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir this morning.
"The bus on way from Ramnagar to Basantgarh plunged into a gorge near Kiya when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn," police here said.
They said that eight passengers were reportedly killed in the accident while rescue operation is in progress and the toll may increase.Rescue operations are currently underway. The gravely wounded are waiting for an helicopter to take them to Jammu. The reports say death toll is likely to rise and attribute the accident to overcrowding of the bus.
