Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) in its drive against drug trafficking launched nine operations at different cities and seized 2.31 tons of drugs comprising 2,273 Kg Charas, 31.7 Kg Heroin, and 6 Kg Opium.
During the operations, ANF also held 12 offenders involved in drug trafficking including 2 foreign nationals and impounded 8 vehicles being used in drug smuggling.
The value of the seized drugs is Rs 5.66 billion in the international market.
According to details, ANF Rawalpindi while acting upon information intercepted 2 cars including a Suzuki FX and Corolla GLI at GT Road near Attock City, recovering 12 Kg Charas and 5 Kg Opium concealed in secret cavities of the cars.
Three persons on board identified as Kamran resident of Peshawar, Ejaz Alam and Abdul Wali both residents of Gilgit were also held during the operation.
As per reports, they were heading towards Rawalpindi for delivery of drugs to some local drug supplier.
ANF Peshawar Road Check on pursuance of an intelligence report intercepted an oil tanker near Taro Jabba GT Road Nowhsehra.
However, driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the scene taking advantage of the darkness, leaving the vehicle unattended behind.
ANF Team took the vehicle into custody and recovered 2,020 Kg Charas during the search of the vehicle. Charas was concealed in oil tank fixed on the vehicle.
Reportedly the drug was being transported to Punjab.
In another operation ANF Peshawar Road Check Team captured a Suzuki Pick Up near New Toll Plaza Indus Highway Kohat and recovered 37.2 Kg Charas from the secret cavities of the vehicle.
An occupant of the vehicle Hasham resident of Khyber Agency was arrested on the spot.
Further, ANF Peshawar seized a Toyota Corolla Car at Havelian Bridge GT Road Haripur and recovered 1.2 Kg Opium and 1.2 Kg Charas concealed in it.
Two persons on board namely Abdul Hameed resident of Charsadda and Muhammad Ghafoor resident Rawalpindi were taken into custody.
ANF Lahore raided near Hamdard Chowk Township Lahore and arrested 2 foreigners including a Nigerian national named Frank Chimezie and a Philipino Lady Maria Cristita along with 1.1 Kg Heroin which was found in their personal possession.

Two accused namely Muhammad Aftab and Arshad Mehmood both residents of Sargodha were arrested on the spot.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are underway.
