politics and wisdom are not linked with age-Bilawal, Bilawal too young to understand politics-Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto was too young to understand politics, calling him ‘baby’ Bilawal during a public address in Matli.

Speaking at a gathering which is part of PTI’s campaign for the second phase of the local government elections in Sindh, Imran said Bilawal is unable to understand that the time for dynastic politics has gone. He questioned why Asif Ali Zardari was not among the people. “You can no longer place your grandfather’s and mother’s picture at your back to call yourself a leader,” he said.

He said that no one can become a leader by reading out written speeches. “Instead, the ones who stand up against tyrants become great leader,” he said, and added, “Do not deliver written speeches. First let me know who are you and what is your educational qualification. Come to me, I will teach you lessons on becoming a good leader. I will tell you how one can become a leader.”

The PTI chief questioned what the PPP had done to bring Sindh at par with other provinces despite having ruled it for 30 years. “Now is the time for change. I want all of you and my candidates to vote for change.” Imran also accused powerful political parties of promoting sectarianism and hatred against minorities. “They use these divisive strategies to achieve their political ends,” he said.

Reacting to PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s speech, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Friday said that politics and wisdom are not linked with age.

“Anyone can become a leader through prudence and abilities rather than through only growing age,” he said in a statement issued by the Bilawal House

The PPP chief said that Imran Khan has been utterly confused in the aftermath of a crushing defeat he suffered during the first phase of local government elections in Punjab and Sindh. “Khan has been disappointed after his flopped visits to Sindh and he is now talking in unstable mode,” he said.

In a first, Bilawal Bhutto joined the scheduled caste Hindu community in Tharparkar on Thursday in their Diwali celebration and used the occasion to take a jab at all his political adversaries. From Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, Bilawal spared no one. A major part of his speech was dominated by criticism of political adversaries and the growing religious intolerance in the neighbouring country. Visiting Tharparkar a week before the local government elections, in which around 500 Hindu candidates are contesting, Bilawal asked the people to vote for his party. He lambasted the PML-N and PTI for acting as ‘enemies’ in the Punjab and ‘friends’ in Sindh.
