Four suspected terrorists have been killed during targeted operation by Rangers in Northern Bypass near Khairabad area.

The Karachi operation has been stepped up, after the four Rangers personnel were martyred during firing by the terrorists in Baldia Town. On a tip-off, Rangers in Northern Bypass area conducted the search operation. The entry and exit points in the area were sealed and no one was allowed to enter or go outside the area.

As soon as Rangers entered into the area during the course of operation, the alleged terrorists opened fire and injured a Rangers official. At least four suspected terrorists were killed when the rangers retaliated to the firing. The identity of terrorists could not be ascertained as yet, however, their face appearance gave the impression that the terrorists were Afghans or Pathans.

The Ranger spokespersons claimed that the dead terrorists were involved in the killing of security forces and were planning to kill police and Rangers personnel in coming days. Sources said weapons, ammunition and explosives have been recovered from the suspected terrorists.

Meanwhile, seven people were killed and five others injured in different violence incidents in the metropolis on Saturday. According to rescue sources, Rehman Sanobar, 40, and other 42-year-old unidentified man, were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them near Bangali Para, Adam Jee Road in Quaidabad area.

In another firing incident, rescue sources informed that during a clash between two groups, five people were killed and five others wounded in Old Golimar, Pak Colony. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. The dead could not be identified yet.
