Pakistan Customs officials have seized a significant quantity of iPhones, laptops, and other items from a passengers arriving from Muscat at Multan International Airport on Thursday.
During a routine inspection at the terminal, customs officials discovered the contraband worth Rs.7 million with a passengers who had flown in from Muscat
The operation was carried out under the instructions of Collector customs Airport Tayyaba Mueed Kiani,led by Assistant Collector Customs Multan Jawad Haider , took place at the arrival terminal
The passenger was attempting to pass through the green channel, which is designated for those with no dutiable goods, however, their suspicious behaviour prompted officials to redirect them to the red channel for scanning.
The passengers, identification is kept secret till completition of investigation.
Upon inspection, officials found high-value iPhones , laptops and other contrabands concealed within their luggage .
Customs authorities have registered a case against the passenger, seized the goods, and initiated further legal proceedings.
Director Customs Multan Tayyaba Mueed Kiani said "we are keeping vigilant eyes on people involved in smuggling particularly such elements who are habitual to business journeys to foil their attempts .she said the customs authorities have intensified operations against smuggling at Multan Airport. She appreciated the services of subordinate staff to combat unlawful activities .
