Director General Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan foiled an Indian attempt to target three airbases with air to surface missiles.“In addition, more than 2,500 surveillance cameras have also been hacked,” PTV reported.
Other hacked websites include the Crime Research Investigation Agency, the Mahanagar Telecommunication Company Limited, the Bharat Earth Movers Limited, All India Naval Technical Supervisory Staff Association, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Unique Identification Authority of India.
“India fired air to surface missiles from its planes targeting Nur Khan airbase [Rawalpindi], Murid Airbase [Chakwal District], and Shorkot airbase [Jhang],” DG ISPR said. “All assets are safe,” the military spokesperson said. “Now, wait for our response.”
Pakistan has initiated retaliatory action in response to the ongoing Indian aggression in the wee hours of Saturday, according to security sources. The operation has been officially named Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
Earlier, we reported that Rajouri district commissioner in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region, Raj Kumar Thappa, was killed after the Pakistani military struck his home as part of a spate of shelling targeting Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu districts.
Citing local officials, The New Indian Express and National Herald newspapers now report that two more people – including a two-year-old child – were killed and three others were injured in the attack on Rajouri town.
A 55-year-old woman was also reportedly killed when a mortar shell struck her home in Kanghra-Galhutta village in Poonch district, while a resident of Bidipur Jatta village was killed in the R S Pura sector of Jammu district.
Al Jazeera has not been able to independently verify these claims. We will bring you more information when we have it.
As part of the operation, all bases identified as launch points for attacks on Pakistani civilians and mosques are being specifically targeted. Multiple strategic targets are being engaged simultaneously as the operation progresses, security sources confirmed.
They stated that Pakistan launched its Al-Fatah missile as part of the ongoing retaliatory operation, naming it in honour of the Pakistani children who lost their lives in recent Indian aggression.
They added that Pakistan has neither forgotten nor will ever forget the sacrifice of these innocent children, who were martyred during cross-border attacks by Indian forces earlier this week.
According to security sources, multiple Indian targets have been struck using Pakistan’s Fatah-1 missile system, with new footage of one such strike now publicly released as part of the ongoing operation.
Meanwhile, Pakistani drones have been conducting surveillance flights over Delhi and Indian Prime Minister Modi’s home state of Gujarat for the past three hours as part of ongoing operational activity.
In a major development, a military intelligence training facility in Rajouri—used to coordinate and train operatives for terrorism inside Pakistan—has been destroyed in the ongoing operation, security sources said.
Moreover, India’s Akhnoor Aviation Base and Bathinda Airfield have been destroyed, sources confirmed. India’s Sirsa Airfield has also been destroyed, with Indian media itself confirming the damage sustained in the strike, they added.
Additionally, an Indian artillery gun position in Dehrangyari was also destroyed as part of the ongoing operation. Security sources further confirmed that a BrahMos missile storage site in Nagrota was also successfully targeted, with reports indicating heavy losses on the Indian side.
Earlier, Pakistan destroyed a BrahMos missile storage site in the Beas area, which was reportedly used to launch missiles at Pakistan. In addition, the Udhampur Airbase has been destroyed, and the airfield in Pathankot has also been rendered non-operational, sources confirmed.
In the ongoing operation, India’s brigade headquarters at G-Top was also destroyed, security sources confirmed. Additionally, the supply depot in Uri was successfully targeted and destroyed, further disrupting Indian military logistics, sources added.
Adampur Airfield—identified as the launch site for missiles fired at Sikh-populated areas in Amritsar, as well as at targets in Pakistan and Afghanistan—was destroyed in the ongoing retaliatory strikes, according to security sources.
Security officials stated that multiple high-value targets are being engaged, and significant damage has been inflicted on enemy positions.
Pakistan’s political and military leadership has warned that if India carries out further actions in response to Pakistan’s retaliation, high-value targets will be struck.
In the event of a counterattack, India’s economic assets will also be targeted, they maintained, adding, India has been cautioned that any further provocation will lead to severe consequences.
Meanwhile, widespread power outages have been reported across India as darkness spread over large parts of the country. According to security sources, a cyberattack has disabled nearly 70% of India’s power grid infrastructure, significantly disrupting electricity supply.
In a significant development, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah confirmed the death of a senior civil officer in Rajouri, reportedly due to Pakistani shelling.
“Devastating news from Rajouri. We have lost a dedicated officer of the J&K Administration Services,” Abdullah shared on X.
The officer, identified as Additional District Development Commissioner Sh Raj Kumar Thappa, was killed when his residence was hit during cross-border shelling.
Abdullah noted that the officer had recently accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister on a district tour and had attended an official meeting just a day earlier. “I’ve no words to express my shock and sadness at this terrible loss of life. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.
India carried out airstrikes on three Pakistan Air Force (PAF) bases, Nur Khan, Murid, and Shorkot. In an emergency press conference held in the early hours of Saturday, Director General ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that all PAF assets remained safe
“Continuing its naked aggression, India some time back has fired air-to-surface missiles with its jets. PAF Nur Khan base, PAF Murid base and Shorkot base were targeted,” he stated.
DG ISPR further confirmed that “the majority” of Indian missiles fired at PAF airbases were successfully intercepted by the armed forces’ defence systems.
He added that the few missiles that managed to evade interception “sneaked in” but, according to initial damage assessment reports, have “not been able to cause any damage” to PAF’s flying assets.
Lt Gen Chaudhry stated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain “vigilant and are thwarting all these cowardly acts of aggression by Indians.” He described the recent strikes as part of a broader and escalating campaign by India, which he said reflects growing internal instability.
“These blatant acts of aggression by India actually reflect the paranoia within Indian mindset which continues to grow after failure of each of this act,” he said. “The paranoia continues to also grow once it realises that they cannot break the resolve and will of the people of Pakistan which actually strengthens and further grows with each such cowardly act.”
He added that this “growing frustration and paranoia” within Indian strategic circles is likely to be “further compounded” as Pakistan’s response capabilities continue to hold firm.
Lt Gen Chaudhry confirmed that the PAF possesses electronic signatures of all Indian missiles used in recent attacks, including data on their launch points and intended targets. “Our air defence systems have successfully prevented the desired objectives of India,” he said.
DG ISPR further stated that the timing of India’s missile and drone strikes on Afghanistan—coming shortly after the missile launches within Indian Punjab—suggested a “larger sinister plan to push the region and beyond into havoc.
He warned that India was trying to drag the entire region into a catastrophic conflict. “Now you just wait for our response,” he concluded.
Earlier, DG ISPR informed that India launched six ballistic missiles from the Adampur airbase in Indian Punjab. Of these, one missile landed near the general area of Adampur itself, while the remaining five struck locations in the Amritsar region.
He characterised the incident as a reckless move that endangered civilian lives and raised serious questions about India's operational intent and internal targeting protocols.
He asserted that the attacks were not accidental. “India is deliberately targeting Sikh-populated areas in Punjab to incite hostility among Sikhs toward Pakistan,” he stated.
Speaking at a briefing for foreign media on Friday, the chief military spokesperson challenged India to present evidence, if it has any, of Pakistan’s attacks on Indian military installations with drone and missiles.
“Pakistan has not used drones or rockets. If India claims otherwise, let it present evidence,” he challenged, criticising Indian media for spreading “fabricated stories.”
DG ISPR said that the Pakistani military’s retaliation against India’s aggression was limited to the Indian military posts firing at civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC).
Lt Gen Chaudhry was joined by PAF’s Director General Public Relations (DGPR) Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed, and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) Rear Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz.
They briefed the media persons on the evolving situation at the LoC and the broader regional implications. They strongly rejected Indian accusations over the Pahalgam attack, warning that New Delhi’s actions risk destabilising regional peace.
