Foreign national reportedly abducted from Islamabad

A foreign national was reportedly abducted from Islamabad on Sunday within the limits of the Margala police station.

A Saudi Arabian citizen has been reportedly kidnapped from Sector F8 of Islamabad, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities.

The Margalla police station has registered a first information report (FIR) at the request of an official from the Saudi embassy.

According to the FIR, the accused, identified as Abdul Wahid Shahid Khan, allegedly kidnapped Saudi citizen Hanan Abdullah al-Bashar. The FIR also highlights the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the need for the kidnapper to face legal consequences and for the prompt recovery of the abducted individual.

The abduction has raised concerns about the safety and security of foreign nationals in the capital city, prompting heightened vigilance from both local authorities and diplomatic missions.

The Saudi embassy, in particular, is closely monitoring the situation and is actively cooperating with Pakistani law enforcement agencies to ensure the safe return of their citizen.

The Margalla police station registered an FIR at the request of the foreign embassy. The foreign missing approached the law enforcement seeking recovery of the abducted citizen and also named an accused.

The FIR states that the accused kidnapped the foreign citizen from the F-8 area.

In a similar incident, a Grade 18 officer of the Inland Revenue Service of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Rehmatullah Khan was abducted from the capital's twin city Rawalpindi last week.

The kidnappers held him for ransom and demanded a hefty amount of Rs10 million from the officer's family.

An FIR was registered for the kidnapping. The FIR was filed by Muhammad Shafiq, the brother-in-law of the abductee.

According to the FIR, Inland Revenue Service Grade 18 officer Rehmatullah Khan is posted at the FBR headquarters. He was abducted by unknown persons at 11:30am on April 12.
