Two mourners electrocuted, 20 injured in Bhakkar, murder case against Fesco employees


Two mourners were electrocuted and 20 other injured seriously when an "Alam" hit 11-kv live wires during the procession of Ashura-i- Muharram.Police have registered a case No.471/22 at 1101 PM under sections 302,324,148 and 149 on the report of Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah Licence holder against Executive Engineer Fesco Bhakkar, SDO, Line Superintendent who were absent from duty. He also complained that there was no medical or rescue team with the procession.Complainant alleged that a donky cart moved towards the mourners when they tried to save themselves from this uncontrolled donky cart, Alam tourched the 11-KV transmission line which caused the death of  two mourners of baloch tribe. Medical Superintendent of DHQ hospital Bhakkar Dr.Shahid told that  Syed Amer Abbas Shah, Mehran Ali, Syed Aftab Shah, Zeeshan Haider, Amir Abbas, Saleem Raza ,Asad Abbas, Muhammad Naveed, Safdar Abbas, Aurangzeb, Ali Raza, Qamar Abbas,  Imran,and  Kashif Raza sustained serious injuries and they were hospitalised. While minor injured were relieved after first-medical aid. Deputy Commissioner Bhakkar Khurram Shehzad confirmed that two mourners identified as Arif Khan Baloch and Aslam Baloch were died on the spot. He said that a large number of mourners Gheraoed the Police station and observed sit in till the registration of case. They were demanding immediate arrest of FESCO employees.However ,they dispersed after the assurance of Deputy Commissioner.Punjab Minister for Social Welfare  Malik Ghazanfar  Chheena rushed to spot and placated the angry mob.
