Multan, July 10th: Eid-ul-Adha is the festival of sacrifice. It renews the memory of that great sacrifice when Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was willing to sacrifice that which he loved dearly, his beloved son Prophet Ismail (Ishmael) to honour the command of Almighty God.It marks a time of great introspection and personal sacrifice for our brothers and sisters. It is the culmination of a very sacred period of prayer with the aim of elevating one’s level of righteousness and God consciousness. These views were expressed by the renowned industrialist, former Punjab caretaker minister for Industries, Ex-President of Chambers of Commerce & Industry Multan & Dera Ghazi Khan, Sitting President of board of Management of CPE institute of cardiology Multan Khawaja Muhammad Jalaluddin Roomi in his message on the occasion of "Eid-ul-Adha".He said that the tradition of Muslims giving charity to the poor at the time of Eid still continues and we have seen firsthand the charitable spirit of the Muslim community. In this critical time of our nation’s history I urge all of our countrymen to strive to strengthen our connection with God Almighty and to take on board the message of personal sacrifice for the greater good.
The real message of Eid-ul-Adha is that we should not forget the deprived class which deprived of these blessings throughout the year and we should remember the needy people and their needs and requirements. That the real spirit of Eid-ul-Adha is that we take care of the poor and the middle class (sufaid Posh). He said that while paying obeisance to the Sunnah of Abraham is obligatory on the people of status, remembering the deserving people as part of this sacrifice is also a part of this worship. Apart from distributing meat, especially on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, taking care of the happiness and needs of such people throughout the year. It must be considered as an act of worship.
Indeed, one of the important lessons from Eid-ul-Adha is about overcoming challenges through personal sacrifice. Muslims have ever made great sacrifices during to meet the challenges and crises. We have all learned to come together in these unpredictable and challenging times. And I hope we can continue to do this, so that we may overcome whatever challenges the future holds for us.
He further said that the festival of Eid is full of joy and happiness. But this Eid is a great gift of God which requires not only sacrifices but also sacrifices of caste. That now is the time for the whole nation to unite. Because of the changing economic situation of the whole world, we have to unite in the name of Pakistan by sacrificing our personal prejudices. That is the need of the hour. Along with the rest of the world, Pakistan is also suffering from inflation due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. This is leading to an increase in crude oil prices. It is taking steps to provide relief and reduce the burden on the economy. In such a situation, the entire nation has to sacrifice its aspirations. That this Eid demands sacrifice from us.Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said that we pray to Allah Almighty to make this Eid a cause of mercy for Pakistan and Pakistanis and to give strength to all to fulfill its requirements.
