Several areas of KPK, Islamabad -Rawalpindi and and parts of Punjab were jolted by an earthquake on Friday, media reported.
Tremors were felt in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Malakand and Abbottabad. No loss of life and property was reported. The 5.0 magnitude had a depth of 175 kilometres.
Last month, earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, parts of Balochistan and other areas of the country.
As per the US Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake of 5.3 magnitude had jolted Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. It had a depth of 10 kilometres.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department said the earthquake, which had a magnitude of 5.2, originated at 2:22pm. Its epicenter was the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region, and it had a depth of 220 kilometres, the Met Office said.
According to media in addition to the capital, tremors were felt in Rawalpindi, Murree, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Diamer, Faisalabad, Multan, Mansehra, Balakot and Chilas.
The tremors were felt intermittently and citizens stepped outsid.There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage.
