Alleged claimant of being 11th caliph of Islam was acquitted by the court, appeal accepted


Additional Session Judge Khanewal Syed Zaigham Abbas Rizvi has accepted the appeal of an alleged eleventh caliph of Islam Muhammad Farhan against the conviction of lower court and acquitted him asd the prosecution failed to prove the allegations, bringing solid evidences .The defence lawyers Syed Athar Shah Bukhari, Ch.Amjad Ali, Khizar Hayat Qureshi, Zeeshan Pitafi and Ch.Muhammad ikram argued the case for four hours.They said that subordinate court did not listen to the defence and imposed an imported judgement without any legal justification.They contended that Muhammad Farhan is an author of more than a dozen books on "Sufism" and spirituality. His opponents plotted to entangle him in a case of blasphemy to get him rid of for their ulterior motives.It was a conspiracy against him.He is a scholar and he was brightest student in School and college.After judgement, Syed Athar Shah Bukhari advocate told media that We have succeded to acquit the accused who was involved by his personal enemies. He said that we had challenge this judgement in session court to get justice. He further said that Farhan Ahmed (43) was an author of more than a dozen books on "Tasawwuf" (the mystical doctrines of the Sufis)

Muhammad Farhan was sentenced to seven years imprisonment  under section 295-A and two years  jail under MPO-16 by a court headed by a civil Judge of Khanewal Khawaja Muhammad Zeeshan .However, the court acquitted a co-accused Rana Faryad Ali due to lack of evidence.

The accused Muhammad Farhan categorically denied these allegations of claiming of being an eleventh Islamic Imam and asked how could he do such a blunder mistake.

The entire proceedings of the case was held in Central Prison of Multan  due to security reason 


Khanewal police on Monday (October 7,2018)booked and arrested a local cleric from Sahiwal who declared himself the “11th Imam of Islam” a day earlier, on blasphemy charges.

He was booked under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 16 of the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance at the Thattha Sadiqabad Police Station in District Khanewal. According to the first investigation report (FIR), the police had carried out an intelligence-based operation against the accused after a video of him making the controversial claim in a private gathering went viral on social media. The man was arrested and sent to Multan Central Prison.It was not clear why the man made the claim, or if he suffers from any mental impairment.

On Sunday, Muhammad Farhan went viral on social media when in a video he claimed to be the 11th Imam of Islam.

Quoting Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), Imam Farhan Ahmed said, “I, Imam Muhammad Farhan, with the grace of God and kindness of the last Prophet (PBUH), announce that I’m the 11th Khalifa Rashid of Islam and anyone who opposes me and my followers will be damned.”

In the video, he was addressing a press conference on Friday from an unknown place. Farhan claimed that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) had predicted about him. He also quoted a Hadith in this regard. He said that he was also the guardian of the appearance of Imam Mahdi. He also invited the youth of Pakistan to join him for the uprising of Islam, urging them to take ‘bayt’ (oath of allegiance) to him otherwise they would be effused of Islam.

He said the sacrifices of innocent people of Kashmir, Palestine and other countries would not go waste. He warned the people not to humiliate or ridicule him, his family and the people related to him. He also asked Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa to follow him otherwise God’s wrath was inevitable.
