The City Traffic Police, and Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) will work jointly to make traffic smooth in city and also facilitate the business community members in resolving their licensing issues.It was agreed at a meeting, held between Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Multan Muhammad Zafar Buzdar and MCCI President Khawaja Salahuddin at the Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Wednesday.CTO said that more than 10,000 reflectors, stickers would be distributed in the city and flow of traffic on Nishtar, Abdali, LMQ, and Old Bahawalpur, Chungi No.6, Khanewal roads would be improved. Giving only ten days relaxation of Helmet, CTO said that it would be compulsory for motorcyclists to wear Helmet to save their own lives. He said that owners of newly constructed shopping centres and plazas would be convinced to use their basements for parking and he asked the traffic police to remove all obstacle on Nishtar road to save the lives of patients. When a member of Chamber drew his attention towards the parking of vehicles on the roads near district courts and unauthorised stands, CTO assured that he would talk to Presidents of District and High court Bars to help the citizens of Multan in the unhindered flow of traffic. He told that with the arrival of winter and Smog, We have started an operation against smoke emitting vehicles to avert any mishap.CTO said that we have requested the Deputy Commissioner not to allow any shopping centre, plazas and business avenue without the sufficient space for parking of vehicles. He claimed that we have controlled "Wheeling" in the city and we are taking regular actions against the wheelies.CTO deputed another Traffic warden at the entrance of Industrial estate on the demand of Mian Rashid Iqbal.
MCCI Vice President Syed Iftikhar Ali Shah, former president Mian Fazal Elahi, Former SVP Mian Rashid Iqbal also spoke on the occasion.The CTO welcomed the ideas of MCCI president and member of executive committee to make some particular roads one-way and e-ticketing system and driving school.The meeting was also attended by Khawaja Muhammad Farooq, Sheikh Faheem Sattar, Col(Retd) Khalid Mirza, Bakhsh Elahi, Muhammad Ramzan Bhutta, Sheikh Faisal Saeed,Mumtaz Tipu, Muhammad Shafiq, Secretary General of MCCI
