Jalaluddin Roomi donates Rs five million for Qarz-e-Hasna scheme

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar highly appreciated the spirit of renowned industrialist, former Punjab caretaker Minister for Industries and Ex-President of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Multan Dera Ghazi Khan and Chairman of Multan Dry port Trust (MDPT) Khawaja Jalaluddin roomi when he presented a  cheque worth five million rupees to Chief Minister for the qarz-e-hasna scheme for the needy people of Multan and Shujaabad in circuit house.He also provided details of charity work done by him particularly during the lockdown due to pandemic COVID-19.The Chief Minister stated that this amount will be used for giving interest-free loans to unemployed youth and corona-affected small shopkeepers through a special committee.He said that it was a good augury that philanthropists like Jalaluddin Roomi came forward for the help of needy people to alleviate their miseries.He said that "Qarz-e-Hasna" scheme would help in reducing the unemployment besides standing youths on their own feet according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Chief Minister was highly impressed with Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi for serving the humanity irrespective of the creed of colour. Punjab Chief Minister said that Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab  Zahid Akhtar Zaman will supervise the project of Qarz-e-Hasan while Commissioner Multan Javed Akhtar Mehmood and Deputy Commissioner Amer Khattak would constitute a committee to run this scheme in transparent manners and Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi will also induct his representative in this committee. Chief Minister said,"We had supported "Akhuwat"and Al-Khidmat" in recent past and we would provide sufficient funds for this scheme initiated by Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi.
Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said on the occasion that we want to ignite a lamp for illumination aimed at bringing prosperity, economic stability, brightness and happiness in the area. He said that these loans would be spread to all needy people. People would return these loans after running their business successfully, then it would be given to other people. Khawaja Roomi said in his letter," We are donating 5 million rupees for Qarze-Hasna programme to be executed in collaboration with district administration of Multan for improving the lives the poor of Multan and Shujabad who are financially hard-pressed and unstable and are in seek of opportunity to find their way for a respectful earning.This initiative will be executed by the team of district intelligence committee of above-mentioned areas as suggested by Deputy Commissioner.A representative will be from our side in this committee.
