MULTAN, July 10th: Additional Session Judge Multan has ordered the Anti Corruption Establishment to desist from harassment of the Hashmi family and no take any unlawful action against them. This order was issued on the harassment petition filed by Makhdoom Zahid Bahar Hashmi, son in law of Makhdoom Javed Hashmi ex-MNA.
The petitioner's counsel Tanvir Alam Hashmi submitted that the Auqaf department was under malafide intension telling lie and showing those people as unauthorised Tennant or leasees who had died in 2007,2012,2014 and 2016 and it issued them notices for the payment of outstanding dues of Rs.30 million.
The counsel further argued that the Auqaf department had given this land to Chaudhry Abdul Waheed Arain on lease in 2012  under the instructions of Punjab Government. A piece of land measuring 25 acres was being utilised for a high school, a College, Library , Health Centre etc for the last three decades but Auqaf record was showing it agriculture and cultivable land.
The land was being utilised by former Punjab Minister Abdul Waheed Arain for the last eight years but Auqaf department's land record and"Khasra Girdawari" showed that it was being cultivated by previous leasees who are lying in their graves.
Anti Corruption establishment representative told the court that they were trying to recover Rs.30 million from the defaulters as intimated by the Auqaf department but he failed to convince the court. Makhdoom Javed Hashmi Ex-MNA said that it was the worst precedence of political vengeance.
