Excise,Taxation Dept established its help desk in Multan chamber to facilitate members

Multan, July 10th:The business community of Multan has demanded of the provincial government to rationalise property tax and abolish double taxation to help businesses and industries flourish in the province. The demand was made by the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) president Mian Fazal Elahi during a meeting chaired by Director excise and taxation Multan Muhammad Abdullah Jalbani at the Chamber House here on Friday. He assured that members of the Multan Chamber would properly avail this chance to get redress their grievances at their doorstep.MCCI senior vice-president Mian Rashid Iqbal,Vice President Mian Nadeem Ahmed, Aurangzeb Alamgir, acting Secretary General M.Shafiq. Khalid Qasuri, Sheikh Muhammad Arif, Shakil Ahmed were present in the meeting. Director Excise has established the help desk of his department in Multan chamber to facilitate the member of MCCI and Deputy Director Admin Khalid Qasuri was appointed focal person. The senior official said his department would take all possible steps to remove the grievances of the business community regarding property tax. He said that Punjab Government has announced a 20 percent rebate on payment of Motor Vehicle token tax in office and 25 percent concession on e-payment. He disclosed that Government has waived entertainment duty on recreational opportunities till June 30,2021 besides reducing the rate of entertainment duty from20 to merely 5 percent.
