Japanese Defence Attache in Islamabad Embassy,Col.Mamoru Nanjo on Friday said that South Punjab will become an attractive destination for Foreign Direct Investment when Japan will execute its far-reaching development projects to uplift the living standard of farmers and down trodden people.Exchanging views with renowned Industrialist and Ex-President nof Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry and DGCCI in his office on friday. Col Nanjo was optimistic that Foreign investors would find south Punjab as the most attractive destination to get more profit as labour is cheaper here than other parts of the country coupled with the availability of raw material,” .Pakistan and Japan possess huge potential for expanding the bilateral trade and economic ties, ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Col. Nanjo said.Pakistan was major exporter to Japan Cotton including articles of apparel edible fruits, oil seeds, Oleagis fruits, grain seeds, fruits, products of animal origin, salt, sulphur, stone, plaster, lime and cement , articles of leather, animal gut, harness, Attache said. He said Japan and Pakistan have enjoyed historical diplomatic and economic relation, where Japan has always supported Pakistan in every situation.He said Pakistan and Japan are looking for increasing bilateral cooperation in agricultural-based industry and value addition as Japan has already announced grant aid to enhance productivity in relevant agricultural fields.Aso also appreciated steps taken by Pakistan to stabilise its economy and expressed the desire of the Japanese government to comprehensively take the existing economic and commercial relations to the next level. He assured to train the youth of South Punjab in agricultural mechanisation.Later we would declare South Punjab as commercial hub in due course of time. He disclosed that Japanese Government had planned to develop the smaller cities instead of making investment in bigger cities. Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi offered the guest to convince his Government to avail the golden chances of expanding business through CPEC project.Roomi said that industrialists, investors, manufacturers ,landlord and farmers are ready to move towards progress,prosperity, and advancement shoulder to shoulder of Japan. He further said Japan can invest in the auto mobiler, Textile, Agro foods and agro feeds sectors. Upon this Defence Attache said that he would give you a good news after consultation with his Government. Day was not far off when South Punjab would be a centre of business.
