Chanting their demand for "Saraiki" to be included as one of the national languages in the upcoming census, the nation’s largest body of Pakistan Saraiki Party (PSP) activists gathered at Gaddafi Chowk (Kumharanwala)on Friday under the leadership of Dr.Nakhba Taj Langah Chairperson, Malik Allah Nawaz Vance Central President, Muhammad Akbar Ansari Advocate,Secretary General, Malik Javed Channer Advocate, Central spokesman, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Khan Langah.
“We demand for what is the national lingua franca, come to think of it, to be included as one of the slots we can tick in the language category in this census,” said Dr. Nakhba, one of the leaders of the protest. “We have been ignored for far too long!”
“We do not want to adapt ourselves to whatever machination the positive framework of the state has set for us,” said Malik Allah Nawaz Vance. “Our brethren are forced to write Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, Urdu, , Hindko, Khowar and a host of other languages, but none can enter the language that they feel most comfortable in.”
In fact, we have it on good authority that a large number of the nation’s political leadership including P.M Imran Khan, F.M. Shah Mehmood Qureshi also speaks it. Also key figures in the civil and military bureaucracy,” continued Allah Nawaz vance. “This is one of the saddest things I have seen anywhere.” Liaquat Baloch, Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar, Syed Fakhar Imam,Sardar Usman Buzdar,Sardar Sher Baz Khan Mazari,Malik Rajwana Ex-Governor Punjab also speak "Saraiki.
Another rally was jointly organised by Saraikistan Jamhoori Party, Saraikistan Sooba Mahaz, Waseb Tajir Ittehad from Chowk Nawan Shehr to Press club. This was led by renowned Baloch leader Rauf Khan Sasoli,Syed Mehdi-ul-Hassan Shah, Syed Akhtar Gilani, M.Salim Raja, Shahid Raza Siddiqui, Manzoor Qadri, Begum Abida Hussain Bukhari,Syed Matloob Hussain Bukhari,M.Salim Darbari, Muhammad Siddiq Thaheem, Addressing the demo Senior Baloch leader said that every ruler had deceived the innocent saraiki people in the name of separate province and they gave merely a lolly pop.He said that unfortunately ,Saraiki organisation were neither united nor concentrate on one point agenda
