Rangpur Police have arrested a resident of Bhakkar on the charge of desecration of holy Quran in village Garwan Wali(Rangpur) in Muzaffargarh district. An FIR was registered under section 295-A and 295-B of Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of prayer leader Muhammad Akram son of Muhammad Ramzan. The complainant allweged that he reached at the Ghausia Mosque in the village at 0545 am for "Azan-i-Fajr" then he found smoke in the mosque and a number of copies of holy Quran were burning.Then he called Khuda Bakhsh,Abdul Rehman and Zafar Iqbal to apprise them of this incident.Later they searched the village to apprehend the culprit.The they caught hold a stranger with bicycle,matches and a copy of Holy Quran concealed under his garments.He was identified as Naseer son of Karim Bakhsh.He was taken by Police in its custody with stolen copy of Holy Quran and a bicycle.Police said that we are investigating case and his medical checkup was expected today.Rangpur Police have arrested a resident of Bhakkar on the charge of desecration of holy Quran in village Garwan Wali(Rangpur) in Muzaffargarh district.
