At least 11 people were injured in Peshawar on Monday after a blast was reported in a parked rickshaw.
The toll was confirmed by hospital officials in a list released following the incident
The explosion took place in the parking area of the Peshawar High Court. Police stated that a rickshaw, fitted with CNG cylinder, exploded and spread panic among lawyers and civilians in the vicinity.
A wound that cannot heal, a winter that never left
However, a senior police official at the scene said that only three people were injured.
“We have confirmed that it was a cylinder explosion and three persons have been confirmed injured,” said SSP Operation Zahoor Babar Afridi. He added that the injured included the rickshaw driver and a police constable.
The senior police official further said that the Bomb Disposal Squad has been called in to conduct a search of the area and collect evidence from the incident site.
The injured persons were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where all the injured, except one, are said to be in stable condition.
Earlier in November, a bomb blast ripped through a rickshaw in Chauburji area of Lahore injuring at least 10 people.
Police had said an improvised explosive device exploded “prematurely” inside the rickshaw.
Ball bearings, magnet pieces and a few pieces of the device were found at the site of the explosion and the bomb disposal squad said the bomb weighed around three to five kilogrammes.
