Lt Gen Nadeem Raza appointed new CJCSC by PM Imran

Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Lt Gen Nadeem Raza as the new Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
The announcement was made in a statement by the PM Office on Thursday. It said that the new assignment will take effect from November 27, 2019, when the incumbent chairman, Gen Zubair Hayat, is retiring.
Lt Gen Raza, who had been appointed chief of general staff earlier this year, had been promoted to the rank of Lt Gen in Dec 2016 when he was serving the army as commandant Pakistan Military Academy. Subsequently, he was made Rawalpindi Corps Commander.
Meanwhile, the statement added that the notification for reappointment of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as Chief of Army Staff for another tenure had already been issued on August 19, 2019.
Gen Qamar was set to retire on November 29 on completion of his three-year term. However, after extension he would serve as head of the army until November 2022.
