MULTAN, Nov 20th: PTI central leader Jehangir Khan Tareen has assured that there would be no tax on oilseed and oil-cake (Binola & Khal) as Present Government has accepted their demand in principle. Talking to a delegation of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association(PCGA) led by Mian Javed Suhail Rehmani in Islamabad he said that our Government was fully aware of the problems confronted by the cotton ginners due to decline in production.He also assured that duty on the import of cotton would be maintained till the disposal of local stock to protect their interests.Later,Jehangir tareen talked to Chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi about the waiver of tax on oil-cake. The delegation apprised him of their grievances and the causes of decline in cotton production.They suggested that Government should ensure the supply of certified ,well germinated and disease resistant hybrid varieties at concessional price. It further suggested that stern action must be taken against those who were selling spurious pesticides,insecticides and herbicides in the market. The delegation said that Government would have to work on war footing basis to achieve the target of 15 million bales in future.The delegation comprised on Ex-Chairman PCGA Hafeez Anwar, Ex-Vice Chairman Aasim Saeed Sheikh,and Muhammad Ashiq Ali Babar Rehmani.
