
MULTAN, Dec 6th: Students of Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan have appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Pakistan Bar council, Punjab Bar Council and Chief Justice of Lahore High Court to take action against such lawyers /legal advisors of different Government departments and autonomous bodies who always employ delaying tactics to prolong the cases. They said that Students of commerce Department of BZU filed a writ petition No.14293/15 against the Bahauddin Zakariya University in 2015 for not reimbursement of their fee under Prime Minister's programme inspite of approval and validation of High Education Commission (HEC).The legal advisor/lawyer of BZU neither filed parawise comments nor appeared before the court on any hwearing.Instead ,they made excuses to escape from attendance. On December 5,the hearing of this case due before the court of Mr.Justice Shaukat Mehmood Mirza but BZU counsel got approved his application of leave from the senior judge to escape from attendance because he had no ground to defend the case.The senior lawyers opined that the court can announce ex-parte decision.They also appealed to Governor Punjab/Chief Minister to cancel the contract of lawyers who were not performing their duties properly. They further said that University should appoint its legal advisors on merit among the seasoned lawyers.
