First round of Thal Jeep Rally ends,Nadir Magsi clinched the first spot

The qualifying round of Thal Jeep Rally concluded here on Friday with international drivers participating in the race.
Nadir Magsi clinched the first spot, while Asad Khuhro stood second and Sahibzada Sultan third. At least, 88 vehicles were registered for the qualifying round. The races in stock category will begin today as well as the final between women drivers.
Women racers are participating in the rally for the second time.
Talking to the media, Salma and Tushna Khan said it was great as last year only two women had participated in the rally, while this year there were half a dozen of them participating.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Ehtasham Anwar told the media that it is a great honour for Muzaffargrah district where such an international competition is being held. The rally track was 176 kilometres long and strict security measures had been taken for the competition.
Additional District Collector (Revenue) Ataul Haq explained that the track started from Head Muhammadwali, touched the boundary of Layyah district and would finish back at Head Muhammadwali. He also said that 14 checkposts had been set up with police and Rescue 1122 personnel. Ambulance service would also be provided for medical assistance.
The district administrationof Layyah also completed all arrangements to host the Thal Mela during 3rd Thal Jeep Rally which has begun with qualification round on Friday it would be concluded on 18th November. The rally started from Muzaffargarh; the riders, participating in the rally, stayed for a moment at midpoint Choubara in Layyah district, and then they will move to their endpoint Muzaffargarh.Deputy Commissioner Babar Bashir said that the consecutive conduct of 3rd Layyah Thal Mela and Thal Jeep Rally was a great success in the history of Layyah district. He visited the site of Layyah Thal Mela and Thal Jeep Rally midpoint at Choubara tehsil. On the occasion, he stated: “The event has become a permanent feature of Layyah district, and it attracts international tourists and motor drivers.” MPA Tahir Randhawa accompanied him.
The DC said that Layyah Thal Mela would promote local culture, adding that the natives would be able to sell their hand-made products on reasonable prices. He directed the colleges and school education department to establish cultural and educational stalls along with universities so that the visitors might have a variety of things in Layyah Thal Mela. The DC further added that Foods Street, drinking water, shady places, and other necessary facilities would be provided to the people on a priority basis in the upcoming event.
MPA Tahir Randhawa said that Layyah Thal Mela and Thal Jeep Rally were a turning point for the prosperity and development of Layyah district.
He added: “One day, Choubara tehsil will be hosting an international Jeep Rally event.” He said that the Government of the Punjab was keen to provide health, education, sports, and cultural festivity facilities and opportunities to the masses.
On the other hand, the district police have also finalised foolproof security arrangements for Thal Mela and Thal Jeep Rally.
