MULTAN, Oct 25th: Governor Punjab Ch.Muhammad Sarwar has assured that South Punjab Province would be constituted as it was a part of PTI's manifesto and we would fulfil our commitment.Pakistan was facing multi-pronged crises but being a brave nation we would be successful in meeting crucial situation. Delivering his speech at a luncheon hosted by Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi President of Industrial estate Management Board,Ex-President of MCCI and DGCCI here today. It was also attended by the office bearers of Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur Chambers, PCGA, APBUMA, Pakistan Oil Mills Association,Multan Dryport Trust, Vice Chancellors of BZU and Agricultural University,Ex-President of FPCCI Tanvir'A Sheikh,MCCI President Muhammad Sarfraz, Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber President Khawaja Muhammad Younas. Governor said that Nations alway find a way of success from the disasters and never succumb to odd situation.He said that Health, Education, rule of law, Merit,accountability and eradicate the corruption were our priorities because these were voices of the nation. Governor Punjab said that our main objective was promoting and enhancing the exports and discouraging the imports to minimise the trade deficit. He said that he was fully aware of the decaying standard of education in the Universities.

Pakistan a country of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He said that we are making the institutions more power but it does not mean that they avoid to listen the complaint of elected representatives. He said there would be complete Check and Balance on the elected representatives, Bureaucracy and Technocracy.He said that elected representatives have a mandate to get redress the griecvances of their voters. Governor Punjab said that previous regime did not avail the facilities of GSP-Plus properly. We have attained this status inspite of severe opposition of India and other countries but European Union provided us duty free access to European market. He bitterly criticised the policies of previous Government and said that it could not promote exports and earn maximum foreign exchange. It could not pay refund claims of exporters and created a liquidity crunch in the industry. Governor assured to provide maximum facilities to business community.He said that PTI Government had announced to provide an incentive of Rs.50 billion to Textile industry by cutting the gas tariff by 50 percent similarly cheaper electricity would also be provided to make their business viable and to compete the world market. He gratitude the people of Multan in General and South Punjab in particular for giving a mandate to PTI .He said that culture of seven decades cannot be changed overnight but we assure you that we would come upto the expectation of masses. He said that we are mending the institutions on the pattern of KPK and we have started the mission of rule of law.Governor said that Gen.Pervez Musharraf has initiated a clean water for all programme with an estimated cost of Rs.45 billion.Similarly Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif also launched this clean water programme. but what a pity that Two third water purification plants are lying idle/closed and only one third are operational.We have called a report about all the water plants and asked the NGOs, Charity organisations, Chambers, Welfare organisation to submit their reports of the water plants being run under their supervision.He said that sub-soil water of Lahore became toxic and it was not drinkable.He said that 1.1 million people have so far been died after drinking polluted water in the country. Talking about the renowned singer of past Gul-Bahar Bano ,Governor Punjab said that it was a duty of the state to look after its heroes, artists,scholars and we would introduce a policy to provide financial assistance ,health care and other facilities to them in oldage. He said that principle of centralisation of power had died,Now world was moving towards devolution of power. Commenting on the defeat of PTI in by-election, Governor said that we have organised free-fair and transparent elections otherwise it was not difficult for us to win all the seats. He assured to redress the grievances of the people of South Punjab .Work on Multan Dera Ghazi Khan road would be completed soon. Earlier Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi spoke at leangth on the problems confronted by the people of South Punjab in Cardialogy Institute, recruitments on political ground in Agriculture University and Engineering University.Roomi said that Proprietary rights be given to more than 500 industrialists i n Industrial estate spread over 800 acres.He further said that an overhead bridge be constructed o n the railway track. Governor accepted the invitation of Khawaja Muhammad Younas to visit Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar Thursday said that health and education were very important fields and prime focus of the incumbent government.
Speaking at the 1st convocation of Nishtar Medical University (MNU) here, he heaped praise on the position holder female doctors. He said that girls were knocking out boys in education field, adding that Pakistan might be the only country in the world in future where boys would be allocated quota for admission to medical colleges if the situation remains the same.
The girl students were far ahead of boys as far as securing positions was concerned, he said adding that today three girl students got 12 gold medals.
He advised graduating doctors to always respect their parents and teachers alike and never forget their roots, especially when they attain high positions in life.
He said that he always approached his parents whenever he faced hard times, adding that their blessings and prayers always made a difference.
Medicines was one of the noblest professions and doctors were the refection of Allah Almighty, he said adding that they were ‘messiahs’ for the ailing humanity.
“If Allah blesses one with power and wealth, one should serve the humanity,” Chaudhry Sarwar said.
About the NMU, the governor said it was one of the oldest and premier medicines institutions of the country, adding that the University of Health Sciences (UHS) and Nishtar Medical University (NMU) were gaining new heights of success.
Pakistan was facing shortage of electricity, the governor said and added that he had asked all public and private universities to shift to solar systems for which the government would extend full support.
Earlier, NMU Vice Chancellor Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha highlighted the achievements of the university in field of medicines. He said that they were working on water conservation and trying their level best to take the NMU to international standards.
The governor gave away medals and awards to positions holder doctors. Parliamentarians, VC BZU Dr Tahir Amin, VC MNSUA Dr Asif Ali, ED CPEIC Dr Rana Altaf, parents, high-ups of district administration and a large number of students attended the convocation.
