Ginneries receive 4.02 million bales till Oct Ist, PCGA

MULTAN,Oct 3rd : Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival upto Oct Ist,2018. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 40,20,645 bales of cotton  have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of October Ist,2017,showing an increase of 0.74 per cent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 39,91,247  bales. According to the 2nd  fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued with the approval of three member committee comprising  Mehr Muhammad Ashraf (Convener) Malik Talat Suhail and Salman Maqbool  here today,Chairman of PCGA bMian Mehmood Ahmed ,Briefing the media men about cotton production they said that  out of the total arrivals, 4.024 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of  18,18,067bales against the last year arrival of 16,78,576 bales showing an  inccrease of merely 8.31 per cent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 22,02,578 bales while last  year Sindh received 23,12,671  bales 4.76 % less. Ginneries in Sindh  recorded a  decrease of 4.78% as compared to corresponding period last year.Textile mills have bought 29,91,861 bales while exporters bought 65,012 bales. The total bales  sold out so far were calculated at 30,56,873 bales. While 9,63,772  bales are lying unsold .Multan received 57,296 bales 0.64 %  increase than last year, Lodhran 27,654 bales 24.28  % decrease, Khanewal 2,53,957  bales a decrease of  3.62 %, Muzaffargarh 94,267  bales an increase of 58.09 %, Dera Ghazi Khan 1,18,226 an increase of 51.39 %, Rajanpur 1,67,542 bales, 71.06 % increase,Layyah 43,110 bales  37.24.% decrease, Vehari 2,57,386 bales  3.07  % increase, Sahiwal 1,21,467bales 5.36 % less than last year, Pakpattan 13,850  bales 44.51 % decrease, Okara 7,250 bales- 25.26 % short, Toba Tek Singh 76,056 bales, 7.25  % decrease , Faisalabad 23,450 bales 5.63 % more than  last year, Jhang 8,810 showing a decrease of 22.85  %, Mianwali 9,745  a decrease of 59.41 % , Bhakkar 10,842(55.53% less) Sargodha (Figures not received), Rahimyar Khan 1,02,835 bales (148.78  % increase), Bahawalpur  1,82,099 an increase of 5.36 %,and Bahawalnagar 2,42,226  an increase of 8.56  %.  In Sindh province: Hyderabad 1,65,995 bales 12.64 % less than last year,Mirpur Khas (Thar) 1,09,704 bales 42.57 % less, Sangarh ,10,81,908 bales  8.90 % decrease, Nawabshah 2,44,782 bales (21.57  % increase), Naushero Feroze 1,31,696  bales (7.87  % increase), Khairpur 1,25,055 (24.77 % increase) Ghotki 7,918 (93.65% increase),Sukkur1,85,119(39.01 % increase), Dadu (Figures not received), Jamshoro 80,109 bales (25.60 % less) ,Badeen 2579 bales 82.67 % less) and Baluchistan 67,718 bales (an increase of 5.88 %). Total 777  ginning factories are operational in the country.Of them 520 in Punjab and 257 in Sindh.Total 9,63,772  bales are lying in unsold stock.They told that the data was collected with joint cooperation of PCGA, APTMA and KCA.
