Crying’ opposition can not get NRO, accountability will continue -Imran Khan

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan stated that the people who are criticizing the current government are the ones who burdened the country’s economy with corruption and are now crying as they are afraid of being held accountable.
During his address to the nation, the PM warned that there will be no NRO for anyone. He said that he would fulfill his promise to the nation, made in his election campaign, by not sparing any corrupt personality. Imran Khan said that the opposition parties, which were accusing his government of ‘incompetence’, were doing so because they feared the unveiling of their corruption when an audit is done.
“They just want National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) from us,” he said, adding, “I want to give them a message: ‘open your ears and hear this; you can come out on the streets. We will give you containers and give you food, but no one will get an NRO.’” The PM warned, “All the corrupt people would be jailed as the country has no future until corruption is rooted out.” He said that the new government faced an immediate burden of paying the installments of debt. He said that had we gone to IMF immediately, it would have hurt the nation as fulfilling their hard terms requires passing on burden on the masses.
Imran Khan said that the government was successful in obtaining a financial package from Saudi Arabia to reduce the immediate burden of paying the installment of loans - accumulated by previous governments. He said that the government made the strategy to ask for loans from the friendly countries in order to reduce the burden on people. The PM further said that the government was also in talks with more friendly countries and hopefully they would respond positively as well.
The PM said, “We also want to play the role of mediator in Yemen conflict as Pakistan wants to bring all Muslim countries together by helping to resolve their conflicts.”
He also said that the government was trying to stop the illegal outflow of money. He said that an investment-friendly environment was being created with one-window operations. The PM said that the government has also facilitated mechanism for foreign remittances. Imran said that he himself was overseeing the mega project of five million houses. He said that a special package would be announced in the coming days to help uplift the socio-economic conditions of people lower-income backgrounds.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman asked the nation to be patient in this difficult exercise as the future holds a prosperous and developed Pakistan. He said that Pakistan was endowed with immense resources and potential and it would make progress at a rapid pace once corruption is curtailed. Speaking about the economic difficulties faced by the country, he said, “We have been trying to get rid of this burden of debt placed on us. We got an amazing package from Saudi Arabia, which has taken off the burden.”
