Ruling Ittehad group maintained its majority in Multan Chamber

MULTAN, September 17th: The ruling " Ittehad Group" on Monday won the first round of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Committee elections by winning 10 out of 12 seats  with a thumping majority.  Total 352 out of 408 registered votes were cast while six votes were rejected. Friends group got only two seats of associate class and it failed to annex even a single seat in Corporate class. According to unofficial result  Ittehad group made a clean sweep in corporate class and attained all the seven seats. Saim Zulfikar of Friend group who was also a nominee for presidentship of Multan Chamber bagged only 58 votes.Majidullah Khan of Shadi Khel  was the highest scorer who got 81 votes Muhammad Tariq Khan  79, Muhammad Sarfraz Sarfraz 79,  Mian Rashid Iqbal 76.Khawaja Muhammad Hussain 75, Naeem Ahmed 73,  and Aqueel Ijaz 66. In associate class, Ittehad group's Sheikh Muhammad Amjad was the highest scorer who got  126 votes, Khawaja Riaz of friends group 116,  Khawaja Badar Munir 114,Khawaja Muhammad Usman 112 and Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh 110. Election committee comprised on Mian Farid Mughis Sheikh,  Ishtiaq Ahmed Chughtai, and Aziz Ahmed Sheikh while legal advisor was Masroor Ahmed Advocate who announced the result. Two observers were sent by Director General Trade Organisations (DGTO) on the request of Friends group which had alleged that election commission of MCCI is not neutral \.They played their role as observer and they monitored the polling upto the entire satisfaction of both groups. Former Presidents of Multan Chamber Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi, Presiden of Multan Industrial Estate Management committee, Mian Iqbal Hassan ,Khawaja Muhammad Abdullah, Khawaja Muhammad Yousaf,Muhammad Khan Saddozai, Shamim Ahmed Khan, Mian Mughis A Sheikh, APBUMA's chairman Syed Muhammad Aasim Shah.Chairman of Multan Dryport Trust Khawaja Muhammad Fazil have greeted the newly elected body of MCCI describing it an outcome of trust of member on them.
