Imran forgets to bring CNIC for NA speaker voting

Couple of days after borrowing a waistcoat from National Assembly staffer for the card picture, chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan was caught in a spotlight again  today when it transpired that the prime minister in-waiting forgot to bring his computerized national identity card during the NA session for election of the speaker.
According to South Punjab News, Imran forgot to bring along his CNIC and the card is essential for assembly members to cast their vote. However, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq allowed Mr. Khan to cast vote using his prerogative.
The issue was highlighted more when Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) member from Karachi Abdul Qadir Patel complained of the “discriminatory behavior” as he had forgotten his CNIC and was made to bring it before being allowed to vote.
In response, Ayaz Sadiq issued a statement, “Imran Khan asked for my permission to vote. Had you sought my permission, I would have allowed you to vote as well.”On Aug 13, Mr. Khan borrowed a waistcoat of a photographer moments before his official NA card picture was to be taken. The video of Imran Khan also went viral on the social media with most people commending the future PM of being too ‘simplistic’ to even forget to wear a waistcoat while arriving to the Assembly.
