Two Afghan soldiers sent back home as goodwill gesture

The Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC) handed over two Afghan soldiers to border authorities at Chaman crossing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Wednesday.
“FC Balochistan hands over 2 Afghan soldiers Hayat Ullah and Lateef Ullah Khan,” the military’s media wing said. “Both had crossed over to Pakistan and were arrested by FC.”
The return, the ISPR added, of serving Afghan National Army and Afghan Border Police soldiers is on humanitarian grounds as goodwill gesture.
Earlier in May, an Afghan military delegation, visiting the Southern Command headquarters in Quetta, met with Pakistani military officials and officials of both countries emphasised that peace and stability can be achieved through complementary efforts and enhanced mutual cooperation.
Matters of mutual security and concerns, including the border security mechanism and management also came under discussion. The meeting was attended by an Afghan Army corps commander and other military officials.
