A Judge also joined Shoe-Club, A thief hurled a shoe for delaying case

MULTAN:A theft-accused hurled a shoe on a civil judge/Local Magistrate Zahid Qayyum during the hearing of a theft case against him here on Tuesday when he ordered to sent him to prison on judicial remand on Police request.Ijaz Ahmed of Muzaffargarh is languishing in prison for the last nine months in theft case instituted by Chehalyak Police.Neither Police completed his challan nor recovered any stolen thing from his possession.The accused Ijaz said," The right to a fair trial is a superior right and cannot be clogged by any "principle of parsimony". Equally, it must be borne in mind that what an applicant must establish is the real risk (as opposed to the demonstrated certainty or probability) of an unfair trial.,"He said that Chief Justice Lahore High Court should take action against such judges who act upon the advice of Police /Prosecution blind foldedly and they do not dare to peruse the case. Such judges are playing in the hands of Police and are developing a sense of tyranny,injustice and inequality in the society. It seemed it was a reaction of undue delay in disposal of this petty theft case. As soon as he hurled his Chappal towards the Magistrate,Police thrashed the accused and registered another case under terrorism act against him on the complaint of a reader of the court. According to details, the case of the accused Ijaz was under trial for over one year in the court of civil judge and he was highly irked on prolonged proceedings. Court sources said that the accused suddenly threw his shoe on the judge. The judge left his seat after the incident and went to his chamber.
