MULTAN,Dec 22nd: Malik Asrar Ahmed Awan President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Friday afternoon inaugurated the "Multan Trade Carnival"(MTC) A large number of dignitaries joined this occasion including Tanvir Ahmed Sheikh, former President of FPCCI ,Mrs.Romana Tanvir Senior Vice President and Khawaja Muhammad Farooq Vice President of MCCI ,CEO Ahan Naveed Ahmed Sheikh, TDAP's Director Muhammad Khan, Deputy Directors Nadia Farooq ,Hasnain Haider Langah , City Police Officer Sarfraz Ahmed Falki ,Former Presidents of MCCI, Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi, Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Khawaja Muhammad Yousaf, Ali of NPO, Muhammad Ali Wasti Ex-Director Multan Arts Council,Khurram Javed Butt Secretary General of MCCI, Haji Muhammad Akram Chairman of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) Ex-Chairman of PCGA Shehzad Ali Khan .MCCI President Malik Israr Ahmad Awan termed the event a good opportunity for the skilled workers to market their hand-made and novel products. He said that craftsmen of southern part of Punjab were expert in their skills and preparing products depicting heritage and culture of the area.However, lack of access to lucrative markets has left them at the mercy of middle men. That is why, he added, 95 per cent of the total 115 stalls at the carnival were given to the skilled workers and craftsmen.
He also thanked SMEDA, NPO, TDAP, Aahan ,KCCI and other organizations for extending help to MCCI in arranging the four-day event that would conclude on Dec 25. A number of handicrafts stalls were installed by the skilled people of Balochistan ,KPK , Swat, Sindh,Punjab and other parts of country.Malik Asrar Ahmed Awan said that this carnival will attract the domestic as well foreign buyers and a number of ambassadors were also invited to visit this occasion.He said," it will prove a game changer for the business people of South Punjab who can't approach to market or buyers directly and it is being organised in the city of Saints at MCCI house in collaboration with Trade Development of Pakistan (TDAP).Malik Asrar Awan said that it would be an unique exhibition where 115 octonorm stalls for display of products of Textiles, Agriculture, Energy, Handicrafts, Telecom, Food & Beverages, Leather & Footwear, Electronics and Home appliances, Boutiques and Brands, Beauty and cosmetics,Jewellery and Fashion, Furniture and Homeware, Local and National arts & Crafts, Interior decoration, Health care and Nutrition,Service Sector and others were installed . He said that this event would open the doors to new horizons, markets for SMEs and Entrepreneurs and it will provide golden opportunity to beneficiaries to build their relations with business professional ,Develop and evaluate potential market in Multan for renowned Brands, face to face dialogues with business prospects and customers, Promotional opportunities for brands ,products ,services in potential market of South Punjab.
