The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Education Department on Thursday issued letters of reinstatement to over 60 teachers of the district, after a 20-year battle ended with the decision of the Supreme Court in August this year.
The District Education Officer (DEO) Umer Kundi held a simple ceremony at his office inviting these teachers and some lower cadre staffers who were sacked in 1997 and reinstated in 2017 after a legal fight stretching across decades and governments. The reinstated people were asked to report to their designated destinations to submit joining reports.Kundi said Haripur was facing serious shortage of the teaching staff and the reinstated teachers would play their role in strengthening the education system.Justice delayed is indeed Justice denied .If one is wronged, justice must be served to right the wrong in the soonest possible manner, on the most beneficial moment for the person . If this equity is not provided by the Justice system, then the "equal protection of the law" is not achieved, thus violating one's inherent right to life, liberty and the pursuit of one's own happiness. This is so because procastination of justice can lead to loss of substantial evidence which could lead to serious injustice on the part of the court. During the period of waiting, the criminal could escape with the evidence or derive time from the period of waiting to bribe the lawyers and judges especially if the criminal in question is rich and the injured is poor. This can lead to denial of justice and in some cases the imprisonment and killing of innocent people. It can also increase the social ills in the society
