At least 14 people were killed and 25 others wounded when a passenger coach collided head-on with a van in Dasht area of Mastung district on Saturday.
Police and rescue sources that the passenger coach bound for Quetta from Sibbi collided head-on with a van coming from opposite direction in Dasht area, killing 14 and wounding 25.
They added that the bodies and the injured had been shifted to the Civil Hospital Quetta, where condition of some of the wounded are said to be critical.Reckless driving, poor condition of roads and lack of knowledge about traffic laws lead to road accidents in Pakistan. As per Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), police has received around 9,000 accidents were reported since 2011.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed deep grief over the loss of innocent lives in the unfortunate road accident.
Police sources said the injured have been shifted to the civil hospital in Quetta for treatment because of unavailability of proper health facilities in Mastung, according to reports.
The accident took place when a passenger coach, on Bolan Road in the Dasht area, collided with a van. The coach was carrying approximately 20 passengers who were on their way to a picnic.In his message, he commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for early recovery of the injured.
