Mithali Raj shuts down a reporter for asking who her favourite male cricketer is

It would be close to impossible to find an instance where a male cricketer was asked by the media about his female counterpart from the same sport.
No wonder Indian cricket women's team captain Mithali Raj doesn't appreciate being asked about who her favourite male cricketer is.
On the eve of the Women's World Cup at a media roundtable event, Raj shut down a reporter who threw a sexist query at her.
"Do you ask the same question to a male cricketer? Do you ask them who their favourite female cricketer is?" she said to the journalist in question, reports ESPN Cricinfo "I have always been asked who's your favourite cricketer but you should ask them who their favourite female cricketer is." Raj also spoke about the imbalance of attention the men's team receives compared to the women's team.
“There’s a lot of difference because we are not a regular on television,” she said. “Now the BCCI has made an effort that the last two home series have been televised and social media has improved a lot of it but there is a still a lot of catch-up to do in terms of recognition”.
Many took to Twitter to applaud Raj for her response:The ICC Women's World Cup 2017 is stated to start tomorrow and India will take on England in their first match. Here's wishing the team all the best.
