Four terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were executed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
This is the second consecutive day when militants belonging to the TTP were hanged. The militants were tried by military courts and convicted for their involvement in acts of terrorism, including an attack on Saidu Sharif airport, killing innocent civilians, attacks on law enforcement agencies and armed forces, a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
According to the statement issued by ISPR, the four militants hanged were identified as Bakht-e-Ameer, Asghar Khan, Muhammad Nawaz and Mushtaq Ahmed.Bakht-e-Ameer, an active member of TTP, was involved in attacking armed forces which resulted in death and injuries to officers and soldiers. He admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court, following which he was awarded death sentence.
Asghar Khan was awarded death sentence for his involvement in attacks on armed forces, law enforcement agencies and destruction of educational institution which resulted in death and injuries to soldiers and civilians.
Muhammad Nawaz was involved in various attacks on armed forces, resulting in injuries and death to soldiers. Fire arms and explosives were also recovered from his possession.
