40 Houthi rebels have been killed in a Saudi operation

More than 40 Houthi rebels  have been killed  in a Saudi operation to repel a Houthi attack on the border province of Gazan, security sources told The Baghdad Post on Thursday.

In a statement, the Saudi military said, "Joint forces from the Saudi artillery, paratroopers and special forces, supported by air covering from the Saudi Air Force, have killed 40 Houthi terrorists in Gazan".

The statement confirmed those who were killed included a Houthi leading figure. But it did not name him.

The Houthi assailants fired mortar shells and Katyusha on border security checkpoints. While Houthis terrorists attempted to infiltrate the Saudi borders.
Since 2015, a Saudi-led Arab coalition has been fighting against Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.
