47 people including 8 soldiers were killed in plane crashedin Cuba

A passenger plane Antonov An-26 aircraft crashed in Cuba reportedly killing all 39 people on board.As per the Daily Star, the aircraft owned by the Cuban airline Aero Gaviota came down near the western province of Pinar Del Rio, known as Las Lomas de San Cristobal that is 'difficult to access by land'.As per the local media reports, all the people on board were killed in the crash, however, the official confirmation is yet awaited.The plane had reportedly taken off from the country's Baracoa Airport.A plane crash in Cuba is thought to have killed 8 people. The crash involved an Aerogaviota flight on April 29. The incident happened close to the town of Las Terrazas which is in the city of Pinar del Rio. The incident is so far being reported by Cibercuba and has not been confirmed by official sources. It was a domestic flight that took off from Baracoa Airport.
The number of fatalities was initially thought to have been as high as 39. The Miami Herald, citing a government source, has said that the number of dead is thought to be around 8. A plane crash in western Cuba on Saturday killed eight military personnel, the ministry in charge of the island´s armed forces said.
The Russian-made AN-26 aircraft crashed in a mountainous region of western Artemisa province, killing all eight on board including the plane´s crew, the Revolutionary Armed Forces ministry said in a statement carried by state media.
The plane had taken off from Playa Baracoa airport just outside the capital Havana. It crashed into a mountain, Loma de la Pimienta, 35 miles (55 kilometers) distant.
The ministry said it was investigating the causes of the accident.
