Pakistan Peoples Party on Friday submitted a calling attention notice with the National Assembly Secretariat, urging the Federal Minister for Human Rights to take action against recent incidents of sexual harassment at state-run Pakistan Television (PTV).
The notice comes following television journalist and anchor Tanzeela Mazhar claim that she was harassed by Director Current Affairs PTV Agha Masood Shorish.
According to Mazhar, she was harassed by Masood, following which she filed a complaint only to be told by the inquiry committee that she should have left the job in such a situation.Talking to The Express Tribune, Mazhar said she has no intentions of defaming the organisation. “I have been associated with PTV for about 15 years, I have no issues with the work environ.No PTV representative was available for comment.

PPP leader and Minister for Works Imdad Pitafi sparked criticism for his remarks in Sindh Assembly, which were seen by many as innuendo, while responding to a question posed by Functional League lawmaker Sehr Abbasi during a question and answer session .
Asma Jahangir said nobody would dare use such language if one loses his seat.
The minister had asked the female lawmaker to “come to my chamber” to listen to answer in the English language, when the latter ridiculed him for his language skills.
MQM and PML-F lawmakers criticized the minister for using inappropriate language. Deputy speaker Shehla Raza also faced criticism for not being able to prevent the minister from using derogatory language against a female lawmaker.
