MULTAN, Jan 19th: All Pakistan Hydro-electric Workers’ Union swept the referendum in Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) on Thursday with overwhelming majority of 6167 votes. According to official sources ,there were total 17,350 registered voters in MEPCO.Of them 15,215 exercised their right of vote. Hydro union bagged 10,691 votes and its rival Paigham Union got 4524 votes. The referendum was held in peaceful manner through out the MEPCO region Spread from Sadiqbad to Sahiwal . Hydro Union General secretary Khurshid Ahmed said that MEPCO workers did not lend ear to malicious propaganda of the rivals and forged unity in their ranks.He felicitated the workers of Multan, Bahawalpur,Muzaffargarh, Rahimyarkhan, Vehari, Lodhran, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Layya, Rajanpur, Bahawalnagar andDera Ghazi Khan districts on their success.
